Exporting data

Sometimes you may want to extract information from a Planner report and put it into a Word document (letter, report, plan...)

Using Access 2003

  1. Bring up the report you need
  2. Go Tools/Office Links/Publish with Word - this creates a Word document with the information
  3. Edit (or Cut and Paste) to suit your purposes - unfortunately you may lose some formatting between Access and Word

Using Access 2007

  1. Bring up the report you need
  2. Right click on the report and choose:  Export ....  Word RTF
    •  - this opens a wizard
      • accept the location if it is one of your folders
      • tick the Open the document ... box
      • OK. This gives you the data in a Word document
  3. Edit (or Cut and Paste) to suit your purposes - unfortunately you may lose some formatting between Access and Word

Note: you can also Analyse with Excel - it works but you will need to tidy up the data - in this process the formatting is changed drastically.
