Lots of data

There are many categories of data that can be managed using the Planner

  • Some are summarised as brief text records, eg, achievements, incidents....
  • Other are summarised
    • as numbers eg, Performance/Needs Ratings
    • as codes, eg, Time, Place, Incident Type

The data challenge

As a result, it can be something of a challenge to decide how and where to record the data that you have acquired.

Footnote: Assessments in SP2

When there is an online system-wide version of the "Planner" it will become standard practice for all system-wide assessments (SARIS, NAPLAN, PIPS...) to be uploaded by the system into the Planner. As a result

  • The relevant data will be attached to each student and remain available for use

  • The data from each of these sources will be collated with the all related data for each student

  • The data will be complete and available in a timely fashion

  • No data will be lost - currently a huge problem

  • Data will be much less likely to be overlooked - currently a huge problem

  • The data will be much more likely to prompt a manageable response
